Meetings

Our meetings are held at The Dasom Community Church, 501 S. Emerson Street, Mount Prospect , Illinois, on the third Wednesday of every month from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm. These sessions include current news in the model ship building community, kit reviews, technical and historical presentations, and a “Ships on Deck” period where members discuss their current projects, and any difficulties they may be encountering.

Guests are always welcome at our meetings. So, if you are interested in model ship building, and want to learn more about the hobby, or just want to be around other individuals who appreciate the beauty of ships, please join us at our next get-together.

January Virtual Online Meeting

The face to face Midwest Model Shipwright meetings for the first quarter of 2026 have been rescheduled as virtual sessions. We will resume the Cole Seskind Flea Markets when we return to the face to face format in the Spring. We still have a substantial number of books and model ships available, which should certainly motivate all of you during the cold, snowy months!

An invite will be sent out a few days before the meeting. Proceedings start at 7:00 PM, but you will be able to log on as early 6:30 PM. Club presentations will be announced at a later date.
